What Is Dominoes?
The classic educational domino game is suitable for the whole family.
An Israeli company called Gaoni has developed a very friendly and fun version of the game.
The game has different and varied versions based on the exact same rules – instead of dots (representing a number), there are engineering shapes, illustrations, etc.
Classic Dominoes – The Tools:
The dominoes game consists of 28 stones.
The dominoes are rectangular in shape. On each stone is drawn a dividing line in the middle that creates two equal squares.
Each square has a number of dots – from zero to six.
The points are arranged on top of the square in a way that is familiar to us from a standard game cube that every house has.
Double stone – a stone in which the number of dots in the two squares is the same.
For example: 3 | 3.
Before Starting The Game:
Turn over all the game pieces and mix them.
Each player receives seven dominoes stones (do not reveal your stones to your opponents).
How To Play Dominoes?
Each player in turn places one dominoes stone corresponding to the squares at the edges of the table.
Suppose the highest double stone found is 5 | 5.
In this situation the next player will be able to put any stone in his possession that has a square with the number five.
Suppose the player puts the stone 6 | 5.
So now the table will look like this: 6|5 5|5.
In this situation the next player will be able to put any stone in his possession that has a square with the number five or the number six.
Suppose the player puts the stone 3 | 6.
So now the table will look like this: 3|6 6|5 5|5.
In this situation the next player will be able to put any stone in his possession that has a square with the number five or the number three.
And so on…
How To Win?
The first to get rid of all his dominoes stones is the winner.
Dominoes Is An Educational Game?
Of corse it is! Seemingly the game looks pretty simple but you will be surprised to find that it has strategic elements that can definitely be taught to the kids.
Which stone should I get rid of first? What stones have already fallen in the game? And more ..
You can teach the child important play strategies that will develop his thinking ability.
A great way to teach your child about numbers, engineering shapes and colors.
Great educational game for the whole family.
The game is great for travel due to its relatively small size.
Suitable for ages 2+
